I speak about celebrating Labor Day, and of the need to combat racism, anti-Semitism, and LGBTQ+phobia.
I speak about current banking disasters, the welfare state for the wealthy, right-wing fondness for authoritarians, the right-wing attack on learning about racial and LGBTQ issues, and recent Labor activities at Temple, Penn Medicine, and Rutgers.
One of the groups I have long been active with is Philly for Change, the Philadelphia branch of Democracy for America, which was founded after the Howard Dean campaign of 2004.
They meet every first Wednesday of the month at the bar-nightclub Tattooed Mom, 5th and South streets in Philadelphia. Tonight, the guests will be Brian Sims, State Representative, who will discuss the state budget issue; Naiymah Sanchez, transgender advocacy coordinator for the ACLU on trans rights; Kate Goodman, of Fight for 15, on the minimum wage issue; and Melissa Robbins of NOW on pay equity.

Hello, I have changed the name of my video blog to The Next Level, that is where I want to take serious discussion on current events.

I knew it, I KNEW it, the Hobby Lobby decision would be the first phase in claiming the “right” to discriminate on the basis of alleged religious convictions. ANY employer could claim religious beliefs as an excuse to discriminate against ANY demographic group. After we clean the republicans out of the House and Senate, we’ll have to move against the Stupreme Court. Also, where are the howls about “activist judges?” This was definitely based on a political agenda.
