What’s a word or phrase that annoys me?

Whenever physical fitness and exercise comes up, I hear the phrase, “no pain, no gain,” and I get triggred and angry. I heard that kind of talk in the past, and exercise has been a form of torture and punishment, and it makes me NOT want to exercise.

I have thousands of books, and I’m trying to read them all.

What’s a thing I was completely obsessed with as a kid?

I just LOVED the Peanuts strip as a kid, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Snoopy, the whole gang. I felt a kindred spirit in Charlie Brown, with all his rough goings. I still am a fan.

Describe a positive thing a family member has done for you.

I had a pretty bad time with my blood relatives, so nothing comes to mind.

What do I wish I could do more every day?

To just sit and read, to meditate, to write, to contemplate.

What tattoo do you want and where would you put it?

I already have three tattoos, each related to my Jewishness.

What experiences in life helped me grow the most?

Moving to Philadelphia and beginning studies at Temple University. Temple was the incubator where I was reborn, from being a defenseless country kid to a citified, mature man.

What advice would I give to my teenage self?

I would say, “Don’t worry about what people say about you. Love and value yourself. You don’t need them in your life. Get out of that situation as fast as possible.”

What makes a good leader?

Humility helps, knowing that you don’t know everything, and delegating jobs to people who know about it.
