Last night, I came out of my favorate bar, when I see this guy I worked with in progressive spaces; he cussed me out about my Jewish-themed tattoos, called me “baby killer,” and accused me of what the israeli government is doing (or not). He yelled at me because I’m a Jew, never mind I’m nowheres in the Israeli government. I’m a Jew, that was enough.
Let’s be real, Jews are under attack throughout the world, and it’s only peripherally related to the Israel-Gaza issue. It’s a golden opportunity for certain people to let their Jew-hate out. I’m perfectly willing to dialogue with people the Israel-Palestine issue with people of good will, but the security and existance of Israel is non-negotiable.
