The Coalition for Restaurant Safety & Health (CRSH) is an organization of workers in the restaurant, food service, and hospitality industries, dedicated to advancing the health and safety of workers employed in these industries. It is an offshoot of the Philadelphia Area Project for Occupational Safety and Health (PHILAPOSH).
CRSH was established five years ago to address sexual harassment in restaurants and other food service worksites. After the COVID crisis, its mission has expanded to health and safety issues, such as paid sick leave, and safe areas to work in.
CRSH has organized testimonial events to address the need for paid emergency sick leave in the City of Philadelphia, along with peer counselling and education around paid sick leave; classes on dealing with sexual harassment at the worksite; and summer camp programs for workers to place their kids in while they’re at work.
