On July 22-24, Turning Point USA, the trump-loving far-right youth group founded by Charlie Kirk, held its Student Action Summit at the Tampa Convention Center. Outside the center, neo-Nazi gangs stood with swastika flags, a flag with the SS symbol, and a banner for Governor Ron Desantis. (Neo-Nazis favor Desantis? The featured speakers at the conference were the usual stratosphere of MAGA luminaries, entering with screechy rave music, fireworks, and dry-ice smoke, more fitting for a pro-wrestling show.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz-you know, the champion of our service-members and veterans, who later voted against the PACT Act out of pure partisan spite- told the crowd, “I’m told there’s a dangerous bunch of radicals gathered in Florida seeking to peacefully overthrow a Communist government run by inbeciles and nincompoops, and so God bless each of you.” After spouting some lame jokes about Biden’s mental capacity (as opposed to trump’s genius) and abortion, he took a dig at “wokeness-“the knowledge that racism, class oppression, homophobia, transphobia, and anti-Semitism exist-he added, “I’m Ted Cruz, and my pronoun is kiss my ass!” (https://www.salon.com/2022/07/22/ted-cruz-says-his-pronoun-is-kiss-my-ass/) (Sarcasm alert) Yeah, that’s the way, Teddy, don’t let them get in the way of your bigotry! Matt Gaetz, Congress-thing from Florida and guy who thinks he such a chick-magnet, strode in and gave a misogynistic drunk-frat-boy address attacking pro-abortion protestors, simply insulting their looks and not addressing the abortion issue itself. “Have you watched these pro-abortion, pro murder rallies?” he started. “The people are just disgusting. Why is it that the women with the least likelihood of getting pregnant, ae the ones most worried about having abortions? Nobody wants to impregnate you if you look like thumb!

Yep, these young people at the conference will become the future leaders of the republicans Party, running for various state and federal offices, with the idea that blatant racism and disregard for the rights of others, along with pyrotechnic stage shows, is the way to campaign. The racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, classism, and anti-Semitism on display will permit them to act it out.
