It’s time to take part in the Census, the national count of all people in this country. It’s important to take part in the Census, since we need an accurate accounting to attain the number of the population, the demographics by race, ethnicity, economic status, age, religion and region; which areas are primarily industrial, agricultural, rural, urban, or suburban. The Census is the basis for the drawing of the boundaries for legislative districts and the allocation of funds for government services like schools, health care, and transit.
The Census Bureau is hiring workers, part-time and temporary, to work in the Census, taking people’s information. The pay is $25.00 an hour, with flexible hours, paid training, and local work.
