Cabaret at the Arden Theatre

I have just come back from  watching a performance of the play Cabaret at the Arden Theater in Philadelphia. It started out fun, portraying the happy decadence of Weimar Berlin, with all the playfully naughty things going on inside the Kit Kat Klub, with the Emcee telling everyone to leave their problems at the door; but the play takes place during the Nazi ascension, and the play ends at a frightening note, with the reality viciously intruding on the people in the Kit Kat, and everyone trying to deny that anything is other than normal.
