A President Attacking a President is Un-Presidential



There is a clear connection between Donald Trump’s tweets accusing Barack Obama of wiretapping Trump Tower, and accusations of Mark Levin on his radio show.

The accusations of Mark Levin were picked up by Breitbart News, the “news” source owned by Steve Bannon,  a right-wing media provocateur. Bannon is now the President’s senior counselor and chief West Wing strategist.  By appointing Bannon, Trump signals his embrace of the fringe ideology long advanced by Mr. Bannon and of a continuing disdain for the Republican establishment.  Bannon has clearly fed into Trump’s tendency toward paranoid thoughts, and the perception that everyone is out to get him.  Bannon is a dangerous force in the Oval Office, having a history of peddling or being complicit in white supremacy, anti-Semitism and sexism in the articles published on the alt-right website he oversaw, Breitbart. Bannon himself has made controversial statements about women and homosexuals.
