With the recent economic catastrophe, the Crash of 2008, we have seen that the so-called “free-enterprise system” is NOT the way to go in growing the economy for workers. Leaving all economic decisions to the capitalist class does not benefit working and low-income people-their decisions are geared towards making themselves richer, no matter how many billions of dollars they already have, at the expense of the rest of the population.

In spite of the capitalist propaganda, the idea of workers themselves managing the means of production, the factories, shops, farms, etc.-the people actually engaged in the company, who know the business, and what is needed for future growth-is no longer so far-fetched. Bernie Sanders presents a bill for turning over the operation of plants, factories, etc. to the workers themselves. That would mean trues democracy, not just in the ballot box but in all of our lives.
