On Monday, March 9, I was at Dirty Frank’s (13th and Pine, in Philadelphia) for a presentation by a representative of the Abolitionitst Law Center, about how to deal with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) terrorizing your neighborhood; there have been reports of ICE on the prowl in certain areas of Philadelphia.
The presenter, Monica, gave a slide presentation about knowing your rights if you’re confronted by ICE, remaining silent with them (as is your right), intervening as a citizen if you see ICE in action, demanding to see a judicial warrent, signed by a federal judge, and NOT an administrative warrent, what to do if they arrive in your workplace, and how to handle ICE thugs if they stop you on the street.
As part of the presentation, Monica told us about the red “know your rights’ cards, in English and Spanish, on your rights in dealing with ICE; I ordered a packet of them, and you can order them at https://www.redcardorders.com/.
