I am back from classwork in Labor Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst; these are fully accredited Master’s courses leading to a master’s degree, where, with other fine Labor activists, I study such things as Labor Law, Labor History, Organizing, Labor Research, and labor and the US Economy. Education is power, and an educated workers is powerful, a challenge to the capitalist order. If you are interested, I urge you to check the website, http://umass.edu/lrrc.
As a certain blowhard billionaire bully takes the oath of the President tomorrow, I will be taking part in another inauguration, the inauguration of a VAST protest movement against every damn thing he stands for, such as racism, sexism, and class oppression. I will join other members of the Philadelphia chapter of the democratic Socialists of American (DSA) in a series of marches and demonstrations over the next few days. If you are interested in what Democratic Socialism, which Bernie Sanders has espoused, really is all about, please look up http://dsausa.org.
