The Disease of Being Busy

I’m just as guilty of this as anyone. I have to pencil in time to rest, and I feel ashamed that I’m not doing anything useful. I have to discipline myself to rest, just as you have to discipline yourself to work.

And if your busy-ness is for some corporation, do they care if your heart gives out, your brain has a stroke, or if you just collapse? No, they’ll find some other stressed-out person and run that person into the ground also.

Rest and relaxation is a work of self-love; we honor ourselves by slowing ourselves down once in a good while.
