This makes sense; there is no longer a “center” in American politics, no place where opponents could meet each other half way and respect each other. The Democrats are now the “center” party in this plan, and the Republicans are now the far-right party-going that was since the Barry Goldwater campaign in 1964- now all we need is a Democratic-Left party.
